The full process Here’s what to do, step by step, to prepare your photos, bag them up, send them and then see their safe return.

Prepare your photos

  • If your photos are in an album, please remove them.
  • Go through your photos and make sure they are clean with no sticky residue.
  • Please count your photos.
  • Register an account (we need your real address and contact no./email).
  • Place your order in our Shop and pay your 25% deposit.

Bag them

  • Place the photos in a suitable bag to protect them. We recommend a strip of cardboard top & bottom to stop bending.
  • Place a note inside with the order reference no. (from the order confirmation email), the name for your digital folder e.g. Adam 6th Bday, 1972 holiday etc (We will use this to sequentially name your scanned photos). If you want several folders, please wrap the photos in their own bags with a note in each.

Send by courier or collection

  • Decide whether you send via courier (if so, use recorded/tracked delivery) or for free collection if within 10 miles of Chorley, Lancashire.
  • Send your photos by courier or await a knock on the door for collection, once we’ve agreed the date and time to collect.
  • RELAX! Your cherished memories are now safe in our hands and we will email/message to confirm they have arrived.

Processing

  • We will process each photo and produce a sequentially named digitised file, and then contact you via email with some sample images and include a link to complete your final payment.
  • We transfer the folders to our download site and provide you with a secure link allowing you to download your photos direct onto your PC, tablet or phone as many times as you and your family wish for 1 month.
  • We will then return your originals via courier or personal drop-off (if within 10 miles of Chorley).

Restorations

  • If you want enhancements to certain images, then please place an order within 1 month (whilst we still have copies) via our Shop, with a 25% deposit.
  • We will carry out the work and send a draft digital image to you.
  • If you are happy, once you pay the remaining amount, we will place the full size restored image into your download folder and extend your download time for another month.
